King Cake Frangipane
Recipe for 6 persons Preparation time: 10 minutes - baking time: 20 minutes
- 2 puff pastries
- 4.95oz Almond powder
- 3.5oz Granulated sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2.65oz Soft butter
- 1 Egg Yolk
- 1 Fava (optional)
Place one puff pastry in a pie plate and prick it with a fork.
Mix the almond powder, the sugar and the soft butter in a bowl.
Add the mix in the pie plate and place the fava if needed.
Place the second puff pastry on top of the pie plate and press well down on the sides.
Lightly slice a decorative pattern in the top layer of the pastry, being careful not to cutting through to the frangipane filling and brush the top of the galette with the egg yolk.
Bake it for 20 to 30 minutes at 200°C (390°F); check for doneness!
